HK services exports climb to HK$812b

Hong Kong's exports of services increased by 6.3 percent to HK$812.9 billion in 2017, while imports of services increased by 4.7 percent to HK$605.5 billion.
The invisible trade surplus was at HK$207.4 billion, the Census and Statistics Department said.
Mainland China and the US were the top two main destinations of exports of services, accounting for 39.9 percent and 14.3 percent respectively in 2017. They were followed by the United Kingdom (8.2 percent), Japan (4.3 percent) and Singapore (4.2 percent).
The mainland and the US were also the top two main sources of imports of services, accounting for 38.2 percent and 11.1 percent respectively. They were followed by Japan (8.4 percent), the UK (5.8 percent) and Singapore (4.3 percent).
