Debit cards favored by HK students, millennials, Visa's Hong Kong&Macau general manager says

<p>Millennials and student&nbsp;groups in Hong Kong prefer&nbsp;to use debit&nbsp;cards instead of credit cards, Maaike Steinbach, the general manager of Hong Kong and Macau at Visa said.</p><p>Also, &nbsp;she found that the city overall&nbsp;credit card usage was much higher.</p><p>The Visa Consumer Payment Attitudes Study conducted by Visa found that half of those surveyed plan to go cashless. Non-cash payment methods are preferred by 71 percent&nbsp;compared with 59 percent in Taiwan and 26 percent in Macau.</p><p>Security is the main concern, with only 3 percent of interviewees not worried.</p><p>The study tracks consumer&nbsp;perceptions and attitudes in payments and financial services in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, as well as eight other Southeast Asian markets.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
