Female student arrested for HK$1.5m phone fraud

A 21-year-old tertiary student has been arrested for being involved in a major phone scam, which duped four victims out of HK$1.5 million. 
The police said she was part of a syndicate which cheated victims by claiming to be immigration officers and asking them for payments after accusing them of breaching laws on the mainland. 
The 21-year-old was allegedly responsible for picking up the money from the victims. 
Officers said she was rewarded HK$14,000 for her role in the crime.-RTHK
