LeBron James scored 38 points and Kevin Love had a career playoff-high 32 as the Cleveland Cavaliers opened the NBA Eastern Conference final series with a 117-104 win over the Boston Celtics.

The Cavaliers were coming off a 10-day break but showed no signs of rust by going wire-to-wire at the Boston Garden arena.

"LeBron really controlled the tempo, really set the tone early," Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue said. "He's playing at a high level right now."

The Cavaliers built a 26-point lead in the first half and stretched it to 28 in the third quarter.

"I don't even think we played that great," said James, who also had nine rebounds and seven assists.

Tristan Thompson had 20 points and nine rebounds for Cleveland, and Kyrie Irving tallied 11 points and six assists.

Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder led the Celtics with 21 points apiece. Isaiah Thomas finished with 17 points but made only seven of 19 shots from the field.
