India monsoon floods kill four

World | Jul 17, 2017
Heavy monsoon flooding killed four people in western India, officials said yesterday, with grave fears held for at least six others still missing after torrential downpours.

Floodwaters disrupted transport networks and power to over 120 villages in Gujarat state was cut in badly-hit areas.

"Four people died after being swept away in rain waters. Six others are missing," said Pankaj Kumar, a senior state government official.
