The board of Town Health International Medical Group (3886) announced yesterday that the group's premises at Town Health Technology Centre at 10-12 Yuen Shun Circuit in Sha Tin were visited by the officers of the Independent Commission Against Corruption to execute a search warrant last week.

The group said the search on February 9 was in relation to alleged offenses under the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance, and officers of the Securities and Futures Commission were also to execute a search warrant in relation to an inquiry under the Securities and Futures Ordinance.

The search had not affected the business and operations of the Group.

The ICAC said it and the commission searched the offices of a listed company involved in a corruption investigation in a joint operation mounted on Friday.

In November, the SFC ordered a trading halt in all shares of Town Health International Medical Group and China Wah Yan Healthcare (0648).

Shares of Town Health fell 45 percent last year, while shares in China Wah Yan dropped 56 percent.

The companies said the SFC issued the trading halt under Rule 8 of Hong Kong's listing rules which says trade can be stopped "on grounds that the market is misinformed, disorderly or unfair."
