Central Station | May 16, 2018
Queen of the hill! Angel Wong Ka-yan will be crowned the "Queen of Queens" if she wins the women's bun scrambling competition for the third year in a row on Tuesday. The event organizer made the proclamation as Wong, a climbing instructor, has reigned supreme for the past two years. The contest will be held at midnight on Tuesday on the football pitch at the Pak Tai Temple Playground in Cheung Chau, and 1,650 free tickets will be distributed at 10pm on the eve of the spectacle. Nine men and three women will compete for awards in separate divisions. The "Full Pockets of Lucky Buns" award will be presented to the participant who grabs the most buns. Wong is in contention for a Grand Award, for a participant who has won three times in a row. The winner will also be known as the "King of Kings" or "Queen of Queens." The Hong Kong Observatory forecasts sunny intervals with a few showers and temperatures ranging from 27 to 31 degrees Celsius.
